The VC Job Accelerator is a proven program with hundreds of alumni, including Angel Investors, tech executives, and graduate students. It’s also the backbone of my courses at the HEC Paris Msc. in International Finance (#1 Finance Master in the world) and full-time MBA (#1 in Europe, #4 worldwide).

I’m a veteran investment professional with 20 years of experience and a solid track record. I realized over 45 transactions and analyzed hundreds more. I’m passionate about teaching and have always enjoyed recruiting and training the next generation of professionals at the firms I worked at (McKinsey, GE Capital, the Royal Bank of Scotland, and Quilvest Private Equity, among others).

I believe my biggest asset is the variety of experiences I had in transaction finance (including Venture Capital), in terms of:

Lastly, I bring the best of academic research to supplement my experience, through my roles as the adjunct professor of Venture Capital at HEC Paris, my Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) at Toulouse Business School, and an ongoing Master’s in Psychology at the Harvard Extension School.

I’ve trained and recruited dozens of candidates for Venture Capital jobs over the years. The VC Job Accelerator is designed to help you get coveted job interviews and transform them into a permanent role with a VC firm.

Build A Solid Foundation

Every week, you dive into specific VC-related topics that will help you prepare for your job hunt or that will come up during job interviews.

Excel In The VC Case Study

Most VC firms require job applicants to report on a startup pitch deck to test evaluation skills. We practice various formats every week using our proprietary Startup Analysis Grid. The objective is to “build the muscle” to quickly evaluate a startup’s potential using key VC frameworks.

Practice With One-On-One Mentoring

Three one-hour Zoom sessions with our Founder Aram Attar to cover the following areas:

With no fixed start dates, the VC Job Accelerator molds to your objectives, ensuring you’re interview-ready at the right moment. You can join at any time!

Embark on a comprehensive 9-month journey designed to prepare you for success in Venture Capital.

Our curriculum is meticulously crafted to ensure that each week brings you closer to becoming interview-ready, with a focus on the practicalities of the VC industry.

Every week, you’ll receive an email to dive into a specific topic (click on each section to see the detailed curriculum).

The program’s content is based on a webinar or an article, a validation quiz with an answer sheet to ensure full understanding, and a resource to practice acquired notions.

What topics does the VC Job Accelerator cover? Are there any specific areas of focus?

The VC Job Accelerator provides comprehensive coverage of essential topics for those seeking to enter the Venture Capital industry. The areas of focus are designed to build foundational knowledge and practical skills in startup evaluation, understanding VC processes, and preparing for VC job interviews.

You can browse the full curriculum here.

How does the program help in preparing for VC job interviews?

The program includes various components such as expert webinars and detailed articles on VC topics, one-on-one mentoring sessions, and a direct hotline via WhatsApp. These elements are specifically designed to prepare you for the types of questions and case studies you might encounter in VC job interviews.

How long is the program, and when should I join?

The length of the program is flexible and tailored to your VC Job search. Participants can engage with the program for as long as they desire. You have the option to enroll on a monthly basis or get access to all the program’s content for 9 months.

This open enrollment program allows you to join at any time, offering maximum adaptability to your schedule and professional goals.

What is the expected time commitment per week?

You’ll receive a weekly email with a link to the corresponding unit in our online module. Most units are comprised of a webinar covering the major aspects of the week’s topic, a validation quiz with an answer sheet, and a detailed article with additional sources.

While the exact time required each week can vary based on your familiarity with the subject matter and learning speed, the typical investment is about two hours per week.

What is the format of the program? Are there live sessions?

The VC Job Accelerator program is structured using a blended learning format to maximize efficacy, combining live interactions with self-paced online resources.

Participants have access to online courses offering a deeper dive into various aspects of the Venture Capital job. The website also features an extensive library of specific posts and recorded webinars, serving as a valuable repository for participants to explore at their own pace and convenience.

Live elements of the program include three individual mentoring sessions with our Founder, Aram Attar, providing personalized guidance on the VC job interview process or any other subject you may desire to tackle.

Are there any hands-on or practical learning experiences, such as evaluating real-life investment opportunities?

Yes (Full Plan only). One of the mentoring sessions will be dedicated to the VC case study.

You will choose a real-life startup pitch from our online pitch deck library, which contains dozens of pitch decks. You will then present your analysis using our proprietary Investment Commitee Memo template and Startup Analysis Grid.

How accessible is the instructor for questions and guidance?

I am available via WhatsApp and email for quick questions during working hours. Additional mentoring sessions can be booked for more in-depth discussions.

What is the format of the mentoring sessions, and how do they support my job search?

The mentoring sessions are one-on-one interactions with me, focusing on your candidacy for VC roles.

The first session will serve to ascertain the adequacy of your profile with a particular VC role. You’ll fill out our proprietary VC Job Audit before the session.

The second session covers typical interview questions. You will use our guide to help you prepare them.

During the third session, you will prepare and defend a case study, a staple of VC job interviews.

Unless you’re actively going through VC job interviews when you join, I recommend waiting for a few weeks before planning your first mentoring session.

Are there any technical requirements or prerequisites for joining the program?

No specific technical prerequisites are required. Participants without prior VC exposure may need extra study time, but the program accommodates a range of experience levels.

What is the cost of the program, and are there any available payment plans or discounts?

The program offers different pricing options, including a monthly plan for more flexibility (see above).

In the Full Plan, we extend special consideration to applicants from regions with lower purchasing power; and underrepresented groups in Venture Capital who may face challenges in paying full tuition. This approach is part of our commitment to diversity and inclusivity within the industry.

Discounts and payment options are evaluated on a case-by-case basis, ensuring that those with genuine financial constraints can still benefit from the program.

The VC Factory operates as a non-profit, and the tuition fees are primarily used to fund ongoing research in Venture Capital. We aim to make the program accessible and affordable while maintaining the high quality and value that participants expect and deserve.

How is the Full Plan’s 37% discount calculated?

The full cost of the Full Plan is $1,190, including 9 times the monthly plan to cover the full program (9 * 49 = 441) and 3 mentoring sessions worth $250 each ($750 in total).

Is there a refund policy in case the program doesn’t meet my expectations?

Given the immediate access to a wealth of resources upon enrolling, a standard refund policy is challenging. However, our Monthly Plan (see above) offers a 7-day free trial period and an option to cancel at any time, for those uncertain about committing to the full program. (Upon cancellation of the Monthly Plan, the monthly fee remains due until the end of the corresponding billing period).

How long is the access to the online modules valid for?

Access to the online modules, recorded webinars, and insightful articles is available for the duration of your active subscription if you’re on the Monthly Plan, and for 9 months if you’re on the Full Plan.
